Roofing, Siding & Remodeling in Frisco, TX
Frisco grew from about 33,700 residents in 2000 to more than 231,000 by 2023, so much of the city was built in the same couple of decades. Neighborhoods built together often reach roof age together. Collin and Denton counties also see hail most springs, which means a lot of Frisco homeowners are thinking about their roofs at the same time.
Culture Construction & Consulting is a veteran-owned exterior and remodeling contractor with a Dallas–Fort Worth office at 4501 Merlot Ave, Suite 200, Grapevine, TX 76051. We work on homes across all four Frisco ZIP codes: 75033, 75034, 75035 and 75036. That includes the west-side 75036 area that USPS split off from 75034 in 2018. Call (234) 285-8873 to set up an inspection or an estimate.

Roofing considerations for Frisco homes
Most Frisco housing is single-family. The city counts about 62,000 single-family units against about 29,000 multi-unit homes, and nearly two-thirds of homes are owner-occupied. A lot of these roofs went on during the building boom of the 2000s and 2010s, and they've been through several hail seasons since.
That's why many Frisco owners look at impact-resistant roofing when it's time to replace. The Texas Department of Insurance says impact-rated roof coverings "may be eligible for discounts." Class 4 products get the highest credit where an insurer offers one, but each insurer sets its own rules. If you choose a qualifying product, we can complete TDI's installation form (PC068) after the job so you can send it to your agent. Ask your insurer what it accepts before you choose a product.
Heavier materials such as synthetic slate, or a switch to metal, may need a closer look at the existing roof structure. We check that during the inspection, not after the tear-off.
Permits, HOAs and Original Town
City permits. Frisco's Building Inspections Division (972-292-5301) issues permits and inspections through its online portal. The city requires contractors to be registered before a permit is issued. Permit guides report that a full re-roof in Frisco needs a building permit even with the same material, while small repairs generally don't. Requirements can change, so confirm with the city before work starts.
HOAs. The City of Frisco counts more than 200 homeowners associations. Communities such as Phillips Creek Ranch, a 950-acre master-planned neighborhood, and Frisco Lakes have their own exterior standards. Get architectural review approval before materials are ordered.
Texas law helps if you want a tougher roof. Under Texas Property Code §202.011, an HOA can't prohibit shingles designed mainly to resist wind and hail, improve energy efficiency or generate solar power. The shingles still have to resemble what's allowed in the subdivision, be equal or better in quality and durability, and match the look of surrounding homes.
Original Town. Owner-occupied homes in Frisco's Original Town Residential zoning district may qualify for the city's Historic Preservation Tax Incentive Program. The program's Restoration level requires pre-approval before money is spent. If you plan to apply, talk to the city's Community Development office (972-292-5108) before we schedule exterior work.
Recent storm history in Frisco
Storm-report data compiled by StormerSite lists hail reports within 10 miles of Frisco every year from 2021 to 2025, with 22 in 2023 and 27 in 2024. A few dates stand out:
- May 19, 2023: a trained spotter reported 2-inch hail on Preston Road in south Frisco, and quarter-size hail was reported at the Ford Center.
- June 11, 2023: the fire department reported 2-inch hail in Frisco. A larger stone was reported near Main Street and Teel Parkway, and 1.75-inch hail near Legacy Drive.
- March 14, 2024: hail of roughly 1.5 to 3 inches fell across parts of Collin and Denton counties, including Frisco. The National Weather Service confirmed a brief EF-0 tornado near the UNT Frisco campus.
- September 25, 2024: an early-morning storm brought quarter-size to 2-inch hail across both the Collin and Denton County sides of the city, including near the Dallas North Tollway.
Not every storm damages every roof. After an event like these, a careful inspection tells you whether you need anything at all. We inspect, photograph what we find and give you a written estimate. If you ask, we'll meet your adjuster on site. We don't negotiate or file insurance claims for you; Texas law reserves that for licensed adjusters.

Frisco roofing FAQ
How often do you replace a roof in Texas?
There's no single number. It depends on the material, how well the roof was installed and ventilated, and how much hail it has taken. In Frisco, hail is reported nearby almost every year, so the better question is whether your roof was damaged in the last storm. An inspection after a hail event answers that.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Frisco?
Plan on it. Third-party permit guides report that a full re-roof in Frisco needs a building permit, and the city requires contractors to be registered before any permit is issued. Requirements can change, so check with the Building Inspections Division (972-292-5301) before work starts.
Can a contractor waive or cover my insurance deductible?
No. The Texas Department of Insurance says it's illegal in Texas for a contractor to offer to waive, rebate or absorb a homeowner's deductible. Contracts of $1,000 or more that involve an insurance settlement must include a notice that you're responsible for paying it. Texas also doesn't allow the contractor doing your roof to act as your public adjuster. Be cautious of anyone who offers either.
A roofer knocked on my door saying my roof needs work. Is that allowed in Frisco?
Frisco suspended its solicitation-permit requirement in 2016. Door-to-door solicitors must still carry photo ID, plus a state sales tax certificate if one applies. You're not obligated to open the door. You can report solicitation complaints to Frisco police's non-emergency line at 972-292-6010. If someone says your roof is damaged, get a second, independent inspection before you sign anything.
